Probably the biggest single factor that determines how your recordings sound is the gear you choose to record with, and with the unlimited amount of options at each step its almost impossible not to make alot of mistakes along the way. Whether it be online reviews or in store sales reps the just tell you what they need to say to make you buy something. They dont truly care about you or your music, you are just a dollar sign to them. Thats why we at “Vherbal Industries” put together this list of gear you should buy and our reviews in using it. Over the years we have bought nearly everything worth mentioning when it comes to music gear. Anyone that knows me knows that it is almost an addiction for me, but one good thing that did come out of it is eventually i got the gear to get the exact sound i always wanted and envisioned.
Where To Buy
The part of this is where you should buy your gear, but more importantly the mindset to have before even going to get it. While the convenience of local guitar centers and what not may seem intriguing I have found that shopping online is definitely the way to go. One one hand if you go to a local vendor you will get your gear that day, but the price will be considerably higher. Also the sales reps will attempt to brainwash you into buying whatever they are told to push, if you go in for one thing they will try there hardest to convince you its a bad idea. They act like they know more than you, but consider this. If they were truly as knowledgable and skilled audio engineers like they claim to be, why would they be working somewhere making a mere $7 an hour. The truth is most people that work at these types of places are not good enough to actually make any money in any facet of music. So they resort to selling gear haha. Anyways.
So we have established shopping online is the way to go, but where. The answer is very simple. AMAZON or E-BAY. Here are the reasons. Amazon has new and used stock of everything you could ever want, how is that? Because they serve as a hub for millions of online stores. So when you search and are seeing the prices of various used and new items you are seeing the lowest prices available anywhere. Also you can earn rewards for things you buy to use towards more gear in the future, and there shipping is the fastest i have experienced shopping anywhere. Amazon requires no special accounts or paypal accounts or anything, you just find what you want and pay with credit/debit/paypal.
The second option is E-bay. With e-bay you can get some great deals, but there is quite a bit of risk involved. I personally have been scammed on e-bay. I paid for something and didnt get it that simple. The fact it is so popular makes it a nest of scams so beware. But i have had some good experiences and found some good deals there as well. Not amazing deals but good.
IN THE GEAR REVIEWS I WILL INCLUDE EXACT PRODUCT LINKS FOR BOTH AMAZON AND EBAY PRODUCTS
I suggest using the exact links and not going off on your own as there is alot of variations of different models, different sellers that will make the product and service possibly not be as good. All links are directly from vendors i have bought from before so no worries. So on to the actual gear.
There are certain things you need to record yourself and make it sound good, or build a professional studio. There is no real way around this, it is the essentials and you can not cut corners or it simply wont work or will be poor quality. So here are the catagories of gear with the names being the link to each ones list of gear and the corresponding reviews and links to places to purchase.
